In the chemical and petrochemical industries, gases, fuels and vapors are often emitted during manufacturing, processing, transporting and storage of flammable materials such as alcohol, acetylene, propane, hydrogen and petrol. Features of exploison proof cranes and hoists

Mechanical Part

• Exploison proof crane and trolley travelling speed requirements: should not exceed 25m/min when in Class ExdIIBT4, and not exceed 16m/min when in Class ExdIICT4;
• When in Class ExdIICT4, the exploison proof crane and trolley wheel tread should use stainless steel or beryllium bronze steel which is not easy to produce spark. The installation of wheel tread, flange and hub can use cast or mosaic structure. The material has enough strength and hardness to ensure the rigidity of wheel tread meet the national standard;
• The cable trolley roller and small touch button on the limit switch should use H62 copper material. When in Class ExdIICT4, the towing wire rope of cable trolley should use stainless steel;
• The impact surface of bumper should use rubber or polyurethane and the insulation resistance of material surface is not more than 109Ω;
• When the wire rope wind in and out, the angle of wire rope deviate from spiral groove is not more than 2°, and the maximum should less than 3°. The wire rope should use specified type and specification based on GB8918-2006. And also its safety factor should not less than 4.5 when work duty is below M4;
• The exploison proof crane and trolley rail must be reliable grounding and the rail joint should use welded structure, or else the lateral displacement of rail joint and Rp-v should not more than 0.5mm. The rail joint gap should not more than 1mm;
• There should have warning boards on the shell marked "Forbid to touch the floor", "Forbid to crash". When in Class ExdIICT4, the hook surface should adopt measures which can prevent collision or friction to avoid dangerous spark. And can covered by stainless steel or brass plate or molded rubber.
• Brake adopt flame-proof structure;
• Every mechanism design should not adopt open gear.

Electric Part

• The safety protection devices, electric components and lighting equipment, etc. are all meet explosion-proof standard, and not below overall explosion-proof grade and temperature level;
• Usually adopt ground control and also can be cabin control according to customer's requirements. Both of these control mode use explosion-proof button box. While adopt ground control, The button box should suspend with pulling rope which parallel with control cable and the pulling rope should be long enough to protect the control cable from tension;
• Adopt the brake's own flame-proof motor, and brake torque is 1.5-2.0 times than rated torque; single speed motor brake power is AC 2 phases from motor terminal box. Double motor and frequency variable motor should be separate power supply.
• There should not be allowed to have joint among external cable that connect each explosion-proof electrical, if not, must use flameproof distribution box;
• The power cable's section surface of flameproof motor should consider pressure drop caused by long line so as to ensure power supply meet the requirement and not too low;
• Flameproof motor is suitable for soft start especially exploison proof crane travelling mechanism. The soft start equipment can installed in the flameproof control box. And it can reduce motor's starting current to make it operate smooth and steady and also reduce impact to prevent sparks;
• Fixed cable laying adopt steel pipe wiring and the top of steel pipe use cable sheath to protect the cable from damage;
• Exploison proof crane and trolley feed use flexible cable to conduct electricity. The connection cables among electrical devices are all use rubber copper strand round wire. The power supply cable of exploison proof crane should use four core cable with one core grounding.
