Introduction
A
wall mounted jib crane is an ideal solution for lifting and moving heavy objects in a warehouse setting. In the
Philippines, where there is a high demand for efficient and cost-effective material handling equipment, the use of jib cranes is becoming increasingly popular. This case study will explore the application of a 1-ton wall mounted jib crane in a warehouse setting in the Philippines.
Background
The client's company is a well-known retail business with multiple warehouse locations across the Philippines. The warehouse in question is a 10,000 square foot facility that stores a variety of products ranging from small boxes to large machinery. The warehouse needed a material handling solution that could efficiently and safely move heavy items from one location to another. The existing forklifts and manual labor were not adequate for the job, as they often caused damage to the products and were not efficient.
Challenges
The warehouse had limited space and a low ceiling, which made it difficult to find a material handling solution that could efficiently move heavy objects without taking up too much space. Additionally, the warehouse needed a solution that was easy to install and did not require any major modifications to the building structure.
Solution
According to the warehouse photos and working environment descriptions by client's emails, our sales engineer recommend a 1 ton wall jib crane to meet his requirements. This wall jib crane was mounted on a steel column, which was anchored to the warehouse wall. The crane had a reach of 2.5m and could lift 2.8m height. The wall mounted crane was equipped with an
electric chain hoist and trolley, which allowed for easy movement of heavy objects within the warehouse.
Installation
We manufactured and exported the 1 ton jib crane to Philippines. Now the installation has been completed in client's warehouse, without any major modifications to the building structure. The crane was anchored to the warehouse wall using heavy-duty bolts and brackets. We supplied with installation operation and maintenance manual also. The installation was completed by a team of trained professionals locally who ensured that the crane was installed safely and securely.
Why Choose Wall Mounted Jib Crane for Your Project in Philippines?
Space-saving design
- One of the biggest advantages of our wall mounted crane is its space-saving design. Unlike other Types of cranes, a wall mounted arm crane can be installed directly onto a vertical wall or structure, eliminating the need for a separate support structure. This can save a significant amount of space on the construction site, which is especially important for smaller projects or those with limited space.
Versatility
- A 1 ton wall mounted jib can be used for a wide range of lifting and moving tasks, including loading and unloading materials, moving heavy machinery, and positioning equipment in tight spaces. Its ability to rotate 180 degrees around its axis provides a wide range of coverage, making it an ideal choice for projects that require precise and efficient material handling.
Ease of use
- Wall mounted jib cranes are easy to operate and require minimal training. They can be controlled using a handheld remote or a control panel mounted on the crane itself, making it easy for operators to adjust the crane's position and lifting capacity as needed.
Increased safety
- A 1 ton wall mounted jib crane can help improve safety on the construction site by reducing the risk of accidents and injuries. With its precise and controlled movements, a wall mounted jib crane can help prevent damage to materials and equipment, as well as minimize the risk of accidents caused by manual lifting.
Cost-effective
- Compared to other types of cranes, a 1 ton wall mounted jib crane is relatively inexpensive to purchase and install. It also requires minimal maintenance, making it a cost-effective solution for small to medium-sized warehouse and construction projects in the Philippines.
How to Select A Suitable Jib Crane from DQCRANES?
DQCRANES Jib Cranes are the most cost effective and versatile type of lifting equipment, work well to aid larger
overhead cranes and
gantry cranes. They are great for use in production lines to keep machining cells, workstations and warehouse production moving. Jib cranes are easy to install and cost effective, with less structural limitations than other material handling options.
The followings are some basic guidelines to help you choose a suitable jib crane for your application:
- Capacity: Choose a capacity that is right for current and future lifting needs. Most of the available options at DQCRANES, lifting capacities from 500kg up to 16 tons. This allows for full use of the rated jib crane capacity.
- Span: Choose a span that is adequate to cover the full work area. Keep in mind that hoist and trolley selection may reduce the end approach, limiting hook coverage and requiring a move to a larger span.
- Hook Height: The hook height is the height needed to lift your material. This measurement is equal to height under boom minus the headroom of the hoist and trolley.
- Rotation: Jib cranes, depending on their design, have between 180° and 360° of rotation. Be sure that the area of installation is free of obstructions throughout the full range of rotation. Rotation stops are available upon request to limit the range of rotation.
- Supporting Structure: When selecting a jib crane be sure to take into consideration the supporting structure. Building structures must be able to support the forces of the jib crane and load.
